Dave Clayton Joins BMT Syntek Technologies, Inc. as Vice President, Power and Energy

BMT Syntek Technologies, Inc., a subsidiary of the BMT Group, is pleased to announce that Mr. Dave Clayton has joined the company as Vice President of Power and Energy.

Mr. Clayton brings with him 36 yrs of experience in Navy shipboard electric power systems.  Prior to joining BMT Syntek he was the Director of the Navy's Electric Ship Office in the Program Executive Office (SHIPS). In the NAVSEA Ship Design, Integration, and Engineering Directorate, he has been a Warranted Technical Authority, a Division Director supervising multiple Warrants, and was temporarily assigned to be Group Director, a Senior Executive Service position.  

Prior to moving to NAVSEA, Mr. Clayton was Director of Electrical Systems for the Machinery R&D Directorate at Naval Surface Warfare Center, Annapolis where he spent nine years as Head of Power Distribution Systems.  He has had regular contact with ONR, university research programs, US and foreign military technical directors, and other sources of innovation in shipboard electric power systems.  He has supported or directed electric power developments that bring significant new approaches to shipboard electric power generation, control, conversion, distribution and utilization.

Mr. Clayton received his Masters Degree in Electric Power from George Washington University, has taught in his field at the university level and is a technical specialist in the area of design and control of finite-inertia electric power systems.  He also received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.

Mr. Clayton will focus on delivering technical excellence to government and commercial customers in the power and energy market, applying the naval power systems expertise of BMT Syntek to ship systems developments and renewable energy projects.  Jim Davis, President of BMT Syntek, commented "Dave accomplished great things in his federal career and we look forward to even greater success for BMT Syntek Technologies with him leading this division."
